03 Jul Community Outreach Coordinator’s Update
We have had a busy few months at PMC with a very successful coffee morning raising £180 for The Alzheimer’s society as well as having several new groups set up.
We have a Wedding Fayre at the end of July which we are all excited about and should be a wonderful event full of a diverse range of wedding suppliers all keen to help with every aspect of your special day. In preparation for this we have had a wedding photo shoot to show case our beautiful church and also the historic Portchester castle just a few minutes down the road.
We have organised a dig day for the church where members of the church and friends are all coming to give Brian our gardener a hand to get the church ready for the Wedding Fayre as well as tackle some of the bigger jobs one person couldn’t manage.
There will be a car boot sale on the 4th August in the church and the church car park to raise funds for a new carpet for the Vestry. If you would like a table pease email me. There will be space for plenty of stalls but it is first come first served We have worked in partnership with Home Instead senior care to set up a memory cafe once a month for those members of our community suffering with dementia and their carers. This group is free to attend and has a wide range of activities planned- indoor curling for one!! I’m sure it will be very well received and be an asset to the community.
Lastly we have set up in conjunction with Methodist Homes for the aged a once a week coffee and cake afternoon again for the retired section of our community. This group will have lots of different activities as well as larger events put on regularly- a tea dance has been mentioned!!
Please watch this space as there are many more events and activities in the pipeline for the coming months- I’m sure there will be something for everyone.
