20 Nov December courier article
Thank you to everyone who came along to the Remembrance event held in church on the 10th November- we had over 80 people come along through the day and evening. Please pray with me that some of these new people coming into the church will come back and perhaps explore faith with us here.
Little Lambs continues to go from strength to strength with numbers regularly reaching 17 children. We are holding a Little Lambs nativity on the 17th December in church at 10.30. Please do pop down for this small Christmas celebration and for mince pies afterwards, I am hoping some of the families that come to Lambs might see how friendly we are here in church and perhaps come along to another one of our services.
The Christmas Fair this year went very well with an increase in footfall and also in revenue generated for the church. It was lovely to see some of the families from Little lambs coming along- Thankyou to all those involved in running it- I can’t wait for the Spring Fair!!!
I am running an event called Faith in the 21st Century on Saturday the 26th January and would like to invite you all to attend. The event will run from 10.30 until 1 and include light refreshments. This is a chance for us all to reflect on the changing community we serve and how best we can involve ourself in a meaningful way. This isn’t about asking people to volunteer for things but really so we as a church can move in the right direction for the future and to make sure that I am using my time as effectively as possible making sure I am running the events and groups that the community needs. I really would like as many people as possible to come along to make sure lots of ideas are bounced around- if you are able to help serve tea and coffee on the day please let me know.
Lastly I would like to thank all of you for being so welcoming and friendly towards me in the time I have been here- I have now passed my probation and have been here 7 months already!! I feel truly blessed to have found such a wonderful place to work.
I wish all of you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
